Credentials and other identifying information play a role in virtually every interaction that individuals have with each other, businesses and public institutions. Data privacy, control of information is becoming more important, and blockchain has an integral role to play in the development of new ways to manage and share personal information. Within the educational sector, there is a need for new technologies to allow individuals ensure their lifelong credentials are verifiable and secure. The Free University of Tbilisi and the Ministry of Education of Georgia has embraced these new technologies and is working with IOHK to deploy cutting-edge blockchain based solutions. This will accelerate Georgia to become a digital society.
